About

Dear Friends,

The Seventh Asian American Day (7th AADay) will be held on September 9, 2017 in Boston Common. We sincerely invite you to join us to support the event!

AADay was initiated by Asian American Association of Boston in 2011 and was later joined by many Chinese American community members. The sixth Asian American Day was held at Boston Common with over 110 food vendors and booths to showcase their businesses and culture. The event attracted 30,000 people and 6 other ethnic groups, including members of the Italian, Korean and Cambodian communities. The next day, a theater performance was held in Cary Hall in Lexington.

In September 2016, Asian American Day was approved by both the city of Boston and the state of Massachusetts. The event will be celebrated on the second Saturday of September every year.

In order to provide opportunities to more people and vendors, we will greatly expand the seventh AADay in 2017. The event will be held at Boston Common on September 9th, and more people and ethnic groups will be joining us. On September 30th, two separate music concerts of high quality will be held at Harvard Sanders Theater. In addition, a news conference will be held on August 26th in Boston. Finally, a series of activities such as seminars, workshops, art exhibitions and auctions will be arranged by partner organizations throughout September.

The organizing committee of the 7th AADay is expected to include more than 30 groups, which collectively have over 10,000 members and many of those members are well-respected Asian American community leaders. All local Asian media groups will follow and report the entire process of the event.

We would be honored to have you join us this year, and we look forward to working with you to make the event a great success again.

Sincerely,

Organizing Committee of the 7th AADay
